Topiary Kit Description

Our topiary kits are designed to offer you the opportunity to make it yourself. We design the kit to have everything you need to complete the topiary. We can supply the plants or you can use plants from your own garden. Although we are primarily offering you a selection of easy to root succulents, there are many other plants that will work on these topiary forms. Our do-it-yourself kits allow your topiary to be unique.

In our own retail shop we often over-plant our topiary as many of our customers are looking for “instant” results and are not interested in the opportunity to watch them grow and fill the topiary. Either style of planting is fine. The totally filled or over-planted forms tend to force the plants to stretch and need maintenance sooner than the forms planted less full. This style allows the plants to fill in.

Frames

The topiary frames are individually welded by the finest craftsmen with heavy-gauge steel wire; then powder coated, a process which bakes on a durable finish, or hand-painted with a rust-resistant paint. We use 9 to 12 gauge wire to insure durability of design. We never use poultry wire as it does not hold its’ shape and rusts quickly. Our frames will last years without losing their distinctive forms. These are all handmade frames and individually packaged so some variation may exist.

Plants

We make every effort to pick the plants best suited for the shape, size and color for your specific form. However, not all plants are available at all times. We send the best selection when you order but do not guarantee specific plants. Generally, we send a selection of 3 or 4 different plants we feel look best on your topiary.

We allow you to choose how many plants you want for each kit. This depends on how covered you desire your topiary to be when completed.

Moss

Our sphagnum moss is always fresh and collected from the forests of the northwest by reputable harvesters following all state and federal regulations.
